Why exports fail (and how to fix it)
Most “export to Notion/Trello” buttons dump raw text that breaks headings, bloats descriptions,
and forces manual cleanup. The fix is simple: export a predictable structure every time.
ContentRepurpose generates drafts as JSON with four keys—linkedin, x,
email, instagram—and formats exports accordingly.
- Notion: page → H2 per channel → paragraphs under each heading.
- Trello: card → title + clean description → you assign/label in one click.
One-click setup (Notion & Trello)
In the app, connect integrations from your dashboard (Creator+):
- Notion: Connect → authorize → we’ll remember your workspace and create pages to it.
- Trello: Connect → authorize → for now paste Board & List IDs in the modal (fast and reliable).
Under the hood: our Worker hits /api/integrations/notion/export and /api/integrations/trello/export with clean blocks/fields.
Exact data mapping we use
Notion page
- Page title: first non-empty line of your LinkedIn block (or the Email subject if stronger).
- Blocks: H2 “LinkedIn”, “X (Twitter)”, “Email”, “Instagram” + paragraphs under each.
- Why it works: writers scan headings; editors tweak a single block; no messy bullets.
Trello card
- Card name: “LinkedIn Draft”, “X Draft”, “Email Draft”, or “Instagram Draft”.
- Description: the channel content, as-is, respecting line breaks.
- You add: member, due date, labels (e.g., Channel: LinkedIn; Stage: Draft/Ready).
A weekly workflow that scales (30–45 minutes)
- Monday: Paste one paragraph. Generate JSON drafts for 4 channels. Light edits (2–3 mins).
- Tuesday: Export to Notion and Trello. Assign owners. Add dates.
- Wednesday: Final edits in Notion. Mark “Ready”.
- Thursday: Publish via Composer buttons or Buffer (Creator+). Move to “Posted”.
- Friday: Review replies/saves/CTR; capture learnings in a Notion callout block.
Ready-to-copy templates
Notion page skeleton

<6–10 lines. 1 CTA.>
## X (Twitter)
• Variant 1 (≤280 chars)
• Variant 2 (≤280 chars)
## Email
Subject: <short subject>
<3–5 sentence body>
## Instagram
<1–2 short paragraphs>
#<3–5 specific hashtags>
Trello card description (LinkedIn example)
Hook: <one line>
- Problem: <one sentence>
- Lesson: <one sentence>
- Result: <one number>
CTA: Comment “template” and I’ll send it.
Quality gates & pitfalls (save your future self)
- Line breaks on LinkedIn. Keep 6–10 lines. Walls of text die fast.
- X length: stay ≤ 280. Our counter helps; variants let you A/B.
- Email subject: ≤55 chars. Make the “why now” obvious.
- IG hashtags: 3–5 precise tags; avoid spammy clouds.
- One CTA: comment, DM, click—pick one. Two asks = zero action.
Why teams love this export approach
- Zero cleanup: exports are opinionated for readability.
- Ownership by block: Notion headings map to assignees/stages.
- Calendar by lists: Trello gives you a visual pipeline instantly.
- Model control (BYOK): bring your OpenRouter key; we don’t store it.
- Batch inputs (Starter+): sprint drafts for the month in one go.
FAQs
Do I need to format anything after export?
No. Notion gets clean headings/paragraphs; Trello gets a clean description. You just assign and schedule.
Can I change the Notion parent page?
Yes—after connecting, we remember your workspace. You can set a default page or move pages post-export.
What about Buffer scheduling?
Creator+ users can queue posts to social profiles from the dashboard. Otherwise, use our “Open Composer” buttons.
Is my BYOK key stored?
No. It lives only in your current browser tab. We never store BYOK.
How many exports can I do?
As many as you generate. Plan limits apply to generations/BYOK usage; exports are lightweight.
